a new beginning.

It's funny that I'm calling this "a new beginning," because it's really more of a rebirth of a beginning that started about a year ago. When I dropped everything that I knew, everything that was familiar, and moved across the country over 365 days ago, I had no idea I would be in the place that I am now. I'm not entirely sure what it was that I was hoping to find when I moved from my small, suburban hometown in New Jersey to the wild and dynamic city of Los Angeles that I now call home. Whatever it was I wanted to find, I'm not sure I did. What I did find, was an oddly deep understanding of myself. There's something about being alone with your thoughts, your choices, your voice, your emotions, and your body that forces you to just... listen. To listen to it all. I learned more about myself in 6 months than I had in the 23 years that led up to the big move.

I'm still figuring it out. I still make shitty decisions. I could definitely treat myself better. But, we're getting there. And now, I'm going to start documenting it all.
